Just after a bit of advice guys - I'm finding that my beers (specially the light ones) suffer from a bit of chill haze. Normally not a problem, but in my latest pale ale brew it was looking quite cloudy going into the fermenter. What I'm wondering is whether I can fine in the primary, how that's actually done, and whether it'll have an impact on conditioning once I bottle the batch? Appreciate any advice.

the only flakey bits I've had from my kegs have been bits of hop pellets. It should settle down with cold conditioning in keeping it still.
So what did you use, was it gelatine too ?
What are the flakes, not hop particles are they, like Mr C has had.
How much have you poured, do you think you should have all the finings and associated crap out ?
I had mine in the fridge 24 hours and after the first pint I've been clear.
Were there any other problems with the beer, how's it taste?

Yeah I used gelatine too.... I've probably poured a litre or so out?

No they don't look like hop particles, more like flakey orange juice type particles...

I thought the ferment went fine, but maybe it didn't? It's really bitter and astringent too, thinking about chucking it out if it's not tasting good this weekend. It was 3rd gen 1056.

Bitter and astringent sounds like you've still hop & yeast particles pouring through. A litre's only two pints, keep drinking I reckon

I had something similar years ago when I added every last bit of trub from the kettle into the fermenter. Do you do the same?

Haha okay I'll keep drinking then!

Nah I don't pour in the trub anymore Mr. C.
