What are those badboys worth?

Liam Callaghan is in the process of having some made. He's going to be posting pics soon. I'd suss his ones out first. He's doing them in stainless and plastic. He has a discussion all about them in the home brewer catagory
The discussion was started by Alex Daniel.

I just got my first prototype stainless last Friday, getting it vetted by a couple of local pro brewers this week and get some photos up tonight hopefully. It's NZ made and 27 litre capacity, 1.5mm thick walled and seriously heavy duty.  Its not got all the bells and whistles like Farra its just a straight tank with a big port at the bottom - a big freakin port so no stuck yeast cake!  You'll need to buy a lid and valve etc.  Also another port in the side if you need it.

Great cost and really good quality, should be less than $400.  I'll post tonight with photos in the Home brew section with the full details.  Still a good buy if you want to get a lid made and weld in a second port.  This is being made from another company in NZ who has really come onboard to help people get into brewing at a higher standard.  Stoked to have them onboard and really happy with it.

The plastic fermentors (NZ made as well) will be ready in a week, two at most.  These will come in two sizes eventually 35 litre and 70 litre (I'm only making the 35 litre to start with, can't afford to get both moulds made until I recover some cost).  They are awesome units, really durable 5-6mm thick walls and smaooth as a babies bum.  All the additional hardware is available for them but you can just buy what you want/need.  Including lid, seal, handle, base and in the near future a glycol cooling jacket so you can run it outside of your fridge.  Which should leave room in your beer fridge to cure some salami...

Thanks for everyone patience by the way, its been a very long process...

Hi there how much is your 35 l plastic going to be worth with all of the hardware ? And can I put one on order ? After one within the next few weeks , thankyou.

I know this post is a year old. But are you still making these? They're not easy to find...

Hi David

Don't know if you've seen these yet and found out the prices but if you haven't -

I was looking at building one, as a prototype.

Sheet of stainless would set me back about $200 odd, fittings and so on and so forth, some more $.

I reckon I could build one of these that are in the post above for around $800.00 and turn a few dollars profit from that.

Anyhoo, if anyone might be interested give me a yell :)

Hi, how did you get on building your fermenter? Really keen to purchase a SS conical  for under $1000.Cheers

I have a 65L one surplace to requirements,
