Hi,

Does anyone have the specs for Bairds malts loaded into beersmith or some other brewing software?  The Bairds website has information for some of the malts but certainly nothing comprehensive.  In particular I'm interested in the base malts and crystal malts that Liberty sells.

Thanks

Andy

I have looked for these as well. The best I can help you with is just the specs that Liberty has.

Hopefully someone else can help abit more

I followed a thread on the AHB site a while ago looking for these.
Summary was no-one really had a complete inventory and no-one had taken the time to enter all the malts manually using available current data (some saying that the seasonal variability meant there was little value in having a complete list)
As a result I've entered individual malts manually as I've used them - pain in the rear but.. meh!
There was one guy saying he had a partial .bsm file. Emailed him today and he sent it through - if you want it PM me with your email and i can send the file. Its far from complete but its a start.
Hope that helps - hopefully others can help more.

I have just emailed Baird's asking for a full analysis of their malts that Jo supplies.

Hopefully if they respond I will put together a full profile that everyone can have

Thanks Rhyno, that would be great.

Thanks

Andy

I'll upload all the ones that I can find...

And one more...

Isn't it weird that you can only upload 3 files at a time?

Anyhow... if there's anything else likt this that you need, I get quite a lot of resources from my supplier. Just send me an email and I can respond fairly quickly.

Cheers.

Hey Jo,

Cheers for that, but is there any more detailed information besides colour or is that it?

I understand speciality malts don't have diastatic power, but protein levels, Dry yield fine grain and course/fine difference are handy to work out the potential SG.

That's it mate.

The amount of Crystal etc as a percentage doesn't really add much to the final gravity of your brew. A generic number based on the DYFG of your base malt will do.

Figured out that an adblock plugin on Firefox was, along with buggaring up my PM send capabilties, stopping me seeing the reply post"" options for uploading files - turned it off and now I see how Joking was able to post those specs sheets.....

Anyway, for what its worth, and perhaps as a starting point for making a complete file - here's the .bsm file for Bairds malts from AHB.
