A favour to ask chch homebrewers

So, i bought a grain mill off craftbrewer and didnt buy a handle, thinking i could use my power drill to run it. However the powerdrill chuck is too small to fit. Now I have all the grain i need, but no working mill :(

Is there anyone in chch kind enough to let me use their mill? Purhaps i can bribe you with a couple of my finest?

Hi Tom, welcome to use mine if you are in a bind - however it is a bit dodgy at the moment. The flywheel keeps on slipping on the mill shaft so can only sort of trickle feed the hopper (not really a big deal) otherwise it gets stuck and you have to dig all your grain out and start again. I also have not settled on the right gap for the mill - currently works OK for BIAB, but not sure if it is too fine for a 3 pot AG. Might be better to use an 'established' AG'ers mill, however as I say you are very welcome to risk my one!

Mine's available too if needed. It runs on an old 500rpm drill which you have to pulse to ensure you are not running the mill too fast. Crush is reasonably consistent and my gap produces a medium fine crush which can cause stuck sparge if you drain too quickly!

Likewise mine is also good for a helping hand. Same model as james..Has a big 1000w drill on it...

Just need to be careful and keep it as slow without stopping as it'll go through 6kg of grain in about 20 seconds if you go full throttle! 1mm gap gives a good mix of crushed hulks and finer stuff..

Its fixed into a milling machine so you'd need to come around.
